Christmas Lights Near Chesterfield and Wildwood: Plan Your Night

Santa’s Magical Kingdom in Eureka gives West County families a Christmas lights outing with room for a ride, Santa photos, and cookies afterward. Come for the drive through millions of lights across 35 acres, then choose the extras your family wants.

Quick Answer: For Christmas lights near Chesterfield, visit our Kingdom at Jellystone Park St. Louis Eureka, off I-44 Exit 261. Family-vehicle admission is $35 Sunday through Friday or $40 Saturday, including tax. Pay cash as you exit; rides, photos, food, and gifts have separate costs.

Check hours and entrance directions before choosing your night.

Christmas Lights Near Chesterfield With More to Do Together

A neighborhood lights loop can be a lovely way to finish dinner. At the Kingdom, you can make the outing the evening’s main plan. Everyone watches from the same vehicle, with animated displays outside the windows and optional stops when you’re ready to get out.

That flexibility matters when the family includes a toddler, older children, and grandparents. You can keep the evening to the drive or add a reserved ride and a visit inside Kringle’s General Store. Each household can decide what fits its budget before leaving home.

For Christmas lights near Chesterfield that bring several generations together, start with the carload format. The light-show admission covers the family vehicle rather than charging separately for every passenger. Optional purchases stay separate, so you decide how much to add.

If relatives usually choose Christmas lights near St. Charles, give them Eureka as another family gathering option. Share the destination, vehicle plan, and chosen activities before everyone commits. They can then decide whether to travel together or meet you there.

Follow the Right I-44 Exit Directions From Your Neighborhood

The final approach to the Kingdom is I-44 Exit 261 in Eureka. Your best route to that exit depends on where you start and which direction you approach from.

For families planning Christmas lights near Wildwood, that means checking navigation from your own neighborhood first. Use the exit instructions below once your route reaches I-44, rather than assuming every driver approaches from the same direction.

Arriving Westbound on I-44

  1. Take Exit 261 in Eureka.
  2. Turn right at the first traffic light after leaving the highway.
  3. Turn left onto Fox Creek Road at the next stoplight.
  4. Continue to the Kingdom entrance on the right.

Arriving Eastbound on I-44

  1. Take Exit 261 in Eureka.
  2. Turn left onto Six Flags Road after leaving the highway.
  3. Turn left onto Fox Creek Road at the stoplight.
  4. Continue to the Kingdom entrance on the right.

Open the map on our visitor information page before setting off. Send the same destination to anyone meeting you, especially if grandparents or another household are driving separately.

These are entrance directions, so work out your departure time using navigation from your address. Allow room for the activities you have chosen and the return trip home.

Choose a Night for Christmas Lights Near Chesterfield

Our 2026 season runs nightly from November 20 through January 3, 2027, including holidays. The opening time is 5:30 p.m. Closing time changes after Christmas Eve:

Visit Dates Light-Show Hours
November 20 through December 24 5:30 to 10:30 p.m.
December 25 through January 3 5:30 to 10:00 p.m.

For the drive, we recommend arriving at least 20 to 30 minutes before closing. Leave more time for shopping or other activities. That minimum arrival window is not an allowance for fitting in everything.

On a school night, choose one activity the children care about most, then build around it. If Santa is the reason for coming, choose a date by December 23. If the train is the priority, use its earlier seasonal schedule below.

Early-season weekdays generally have fewer visitors than weekends, with Christmas week an exception. Saturdays in December before Christmas have historically been our busiest nights. A weekday gives you another option, but choose it only if the evening still works with bedtime and the trip home.

Set the Carload Budget Before Adding Extras

Family-vehicle admission costs $35 Sunday through Friday and $40 on Saturdays. A 12- to 15-passenger van, limo, transport van, or qualifying small bus costs $60. Those admission prices include tax.

Pay cash at the ticket booth as you exit the park. Kringle’s General Store has an ATM, though bringing admission cash with you saves an extra stop.

For a four-person family in a qualifying family vehicle, the drive still costs one carload price. Adding more passengers within the vehicle’s seating capacity does not turn admission into a per-person charge.

Keep a separate amount for any ride, Santa photos, refreshments, and gifts. Decide which purchases matter before the children see them, rather than trying to set the budget while everyone is excited.

A ride booking changes the admission calculation: book a train or wagon ride for two or more people, and vehicle admission is waived. Compare the ride total with the drive-only price when deciding how your family wants to see the lights.

Add a Ride, Santa Photos, or a Treat

A train fan may give your family a reason to venture beyond Christmas lights near O’Fallon. Our Santa Express Train runs Monday through Thursday, November 23 through December 10, at 5:30 and 6:00 p.m., for $18 per person.

The Old Fashioned Holiday Wagon also costs $18 per person. A Private Wagon seats up to 12 and costs $75 for the first two riders, plus $18 for each additional rider. Wagon calendars have excluded dates, so check the ride schedules before planning around one.

Arrive 30 minutes before your booked ride, except for 5:30 p.m. departures, which require arrival at 5:15 p.m. Reserve your family’s departure once the date is settled.

Our real-bearded Santa welcomes families inside Kringle’s nightly November 20 through December 23. Professional photos arrive digitally by text; outside cameras and phone photography are not permitted during the Santa visit. Review the Santa photo details when choosing your activities.

Kringle’s General Store has gifts, holiday decor, and handwritten personalized ornaments for $18.95 each. The snack shack serves Mrs. Claus’ chocolate chip cookies and hot cocoa, giving your family a treat to enjoy around the outing.

Bring Grandparents or Share the Trip With Another Family

Carpooling keeps everyone together and makes the admission cost easy to share. Two households in one qualifying family vehicle pay one family-vehicle admission, provided everyone has an appropriate seat and restraint.

For grandparents who prefer less walking, the drive-through lets them enjoy the lights seated in the car. Store visits, photos, and ride boarding involve getting out, so decide which stops suit the people coming with you.

Check larger vehicles before arranging transport. The maximum permitted size is 12 feet high and 30 feet long; large commercial buses cannot pass through the display. Call 636-938-5925 about alternatives for tour-bus groups.

If your outing has grown beyond a family carpool, our group organizer’s guide covers larger-party arrangements. Keep those decisions separate from the simpler family evening you’re planning here.
