Holiday Events Near St. Louis: A Group Organizer’s Guide

Santa’s Magical Kingdom in Eureka gives office teams, scout troops, church groups, and clubs two ways to see the lights: drive through together or book a ride.

If you’re comparing holiday events near St. Louis for a group, start with six decisions: vehicles, ride, date, check-in, favors, and questions for our team. Your headcount determines the options; the vehicle and ride rules determine the budget.

Send unusual requests through our Group visits & parties form before collecting money or promising a package.

Holiday Events Near St. Louis: The Group Planning Essentials

Our drive-through light show charges by vehicle, while wagon and train rides have separate prices and capacities. When comparing Christmas attractions around St. Louis, check whether the price covers your whole vehicle or each guest.

  • Vehicles: Family cars cost $35, or $40 on Saturdays. A 12- to 15-passenger van costs $60.
  • Rides: The public wagon carries up to 36 riders across tandem wagons; the Private Wagon seats 12; the train seats 24.
  • Admission waiver: Booking a wagon or train ride for two or more people waives the vehicle admission fee. Ask how this applies to several vehicles.
  • Season: November 20, 2026, through January 3, 2027, including holidays. Ride exclusions apply.

The show covers 35 acres with millions of lights. Preview the Kingdom’s displays when presenting the outing to your committee.

Turn Your Headcount Into Vehicles

Count drivers, guests, and chaperones before comparing admission costs. Among St. Louis Christmas activities, a drive-through outing makes the vehicle plan part of the budget.

Our $60 rate covers a 12- to 15-passenger van, limo, transport van, or small bus. The maximum vehicle size is 12 feet high and 30 feet long. Large commercial buses cannot drive through; call 636-938-5925 about tour-bus options before booking transportation.

Two family cars cost $70 outside Saturdays or $80 on Saturday. One qualifying van costs $60 in admission, saving $10 or $20 if everyone fits. That comparison excludes rental charges and fuel, so price those separately.

Admission includes tax. Pay cash as you exit, and assign someone in each vehicle to carry it. Kringle’s General Store has an ATM. Check our current admission and vehicle rules before setting the amount to collect.

Choose a Ride by Capacity and Privacy

Choose the public wagon for a larger group, the Private Wagon for exclusive use, or the train for an early-season outing. Reserve through our train and wagon booking page.

Public Wagon: Up to 36 Riders

The Old Fashioned Holiday Wagon costs $18 per person and carries up to 36 riders, with 18 in each tandem wagon. It is open air, with views around the wagon.

This is a shared ride. Check that the departure has enough seats before promising everyone the same time, and ask about exclusive use rather than assuming it.

Private Wagon: Up to 12 Riders

The Private Wagon costs $75 for the first two people, plus $18 for each additional rider. Eight paying riders cost $183, compared with $144 on the public wagon.

That makes privacy $39 extra for the same eight riders. The same difference applies to groups of two through 12 paying riders. Ask our team about options for larger private groups.

Santa Express Train: Up to 24 Riders

The train costs $18 per person, with three riders per row. It runs Monday through Thursday, November 23 through December 10, at 5:30 and 6:00 p.m.

For a later outing, consider a wagon. Our Santa Express Train guide explains the experience. Children age 2 and under ride free on an adult’s lap on the train and wagons.

Compare Sample Group Costs

For 14 people who fit in one qualifying van, drive-through admission is $60; public-wagon tickets for 14 paying riders total $252. The ride booking waives vehicle admission under our published policy.

Sample Group Plan Admission or Ride Cost
Office team of 14 Four family cars, non-Saturday $140 admission
Office team of 14 One qualifying van $60 admission
Office team of 14 Public wagon $252 for 14 paying riders
Club of eight Private Wagon $183 for eight paying riders
Club of eight Public wagon $144 for eight paying riders
Youth group of 24 Santa Express Train $432 for 24 paying riders
Scout troop of 30 Public wagon $540 for 30 paying riders

These examples exclude transportation, food, and favors. Ride totals assume enough seats are available. For groups arriving in several vehicles, confirm the admission waiver before finalizing the budget.

Choose the Date Before Sending Invitations

The Kingdom opens at 5:30 p.m. nightly. Closing time is 10:30 p.m. through December 24 and 10:00 p.m. from December 25 through January 3.

Weekdays generally have fewer visitors, except during Christmas week. December Saturdays before Christmas are our busiest nights. For office teams, an early-season weeknight also keeps the train available as an option.

Public wagons begin at 6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday through December 10. On operating dates outside that window, departures begin at 5:30 p.m. Private wagons start at 5:30 p.m.; both wagon types run every half hour until 10:00 p.m.

Check the ride calendar when comparing Christmas events in St. Louis, because our public and private wagons have different excluded dates. Rides run in rain, and purchases are final unless we cancel for snow, ice, or other unforeseen circumstances.

Give Every Driver the Same Check-In Instructions

Arrive 30 minutes before departure, except for a 5:30 p.m. ride, when arrival is 5:15 p.m. A 6:00 p.m. booking needs a 5:30 p.m. arrival.

Send these instructions to every driver, along with the reservation name and organizer’s phone number:

  1. Take I-44 to Exit 261 in Eureka and enter the Kingdom through the drive-through entrance.
  2. After the first light tunnel, stop at the Gingerbread House on the right and tell the team you have a ride reservation.
  3. Follow directions to parking, then check in at the desk inside Kringle’s General Store.

We cannot hold departures for late passengers or guarantee seats on a later ride. Call if someone is running late. Blankets are available, and riders may bring their own.

After your ride, you may drive back through the Kingdom to see the half-mile section the ride skips. Children can also drop letters in the North Pole Mailbox.

Set a Separate Budget for Favors and Treats

Personalized ornaments give each guest something to take home, but decide whether your organization or each guest will pay before the outing.

At Kringle’s General Store, handwritten personalized ornaments cost $18.95 each, with hundreds of styles available. Ask our elves about wording. For advance group orders, use our separate bulk personalized ornament service to discuss options and timing.

The Snack Shack offers chocolate chip cookies baked nightly, cocoa, coffee, pretzels, popcorn, and hot dogs. Keep refreshments outside the admission or ride total when collecting group money.

Santa visits inside Kringle’s from November 20 through December 23. Professional photos arrive by text; personal cameras and phone photography are not permitted during the Santa visit. Share our Santa photo details with parents beforehand.

Match the Plan to Your Group

Office parties and team nights: Compare a van outing with a Private Wagon for teams of 12 or fewer. An after-work ride needs enough travel time to reach check-in.

Scout troops: Include adult leaders in the headcount. A shared public-wagon departure can accommodate up to 36 riders across tandem wagons, subject to available seats.

Church and youth groups: Consider the 24-seat train within its early-season schedule. For dates after December 10, check wagon availability instead.

Clubs and school families: Let each driver follow the same arrival instructions. Confirm the multi-vehicle waiver before telling families admission is covered.

Send the Invite With the Details Settled

Your invitation should state the date, arrival time, reservation name, vehicle assignments, and what each guest needs to pay. Include whether treats and ornaments are optional extras.

For questions about discounts, exclusive public-wagon departures, several private wagons, or party space, send your group plan to our team. Select Group visits & parties and include your date, headcount, and transportation plan. We usually reply within one business day; you can also call 636-938-5925.

Coworkers and volunteers with children at home can also order a personalized Letter from Santa.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Does Santa’s Magical Kingdom Offer Organized Groups?

Groups can drive through our Eureka light show or book a wagon or train ride. Kringle’s General Store and the Snack Shack provide places to buy ornaments and refreshments during the visit.

Which Holiday Events Near St. Louis Can Accommodate 30 Riders?

Our public Old Fashioned Holiday Wagon accommodates up to 36 riders across tandem wagons, subject to available seats. A group of 30 paying riders costs $540; that booking does not automatically provide exclusive use.

When Can Our Group Ride the Santa Express Train?

The train runs Monday through Thursday from November 23 through December 10, with departures at 5:30 and 6:00 p.m. It seats 24 riders; groups visiting after December 10 should check wagon options instead.

Can Our Group Arrive on a Large Charter Bus?

Large commercial buses cannot drive through the Kingdom; the vehicle limit is 12 feet high and 30 feet long. Call 636-938-5925 before arranging charter transportation so our team can explain tour-bus group options.

How Early Should Our Group Arrive for a Ride?

Arrive 30 minutes before your reservation, except for 5:30 p.m. rides, which require arrival at 5:15 p.m. After entering, follow the Gingerbread House team’s parking directions and check in inside Kringle’s General Store.

What Happens If Some Guests Miss Our Departure?

We cannot delay a ride for late guests or guarantee seats on another departure that evening. Give every driver the arrival instructions and reservation name, and call 636-938-5925 if anyone expects to arrive late.

Does Booking a Group Mean We Receive a Discount?

We do not publish a separate group rate. Booking a ride for two or more people waives vehicle admission, but groups using several vehicles should confirm how that waiver applies before collecting payment.

How Does a Private Wagon Compare With the Public Wagon?

A Private Wagon seats 12 and reserves the wagon for your group; public rides use shared departures. For eight paying riders, the private option costs $183 versus $144 on the public wagon, a $39 difference.

Can Our Group Drive Through Again After the Ride?

Ride guests may drive back through the Kingdom after their train or wagon trip. This lets them see the half-mile section omitted from the ride route and drop children’s letters in the North Pole Mailbox.

Is One Van Cheaper Than Taking Two Cars?

One qualifying van costs $60 in admission, compared with $70 for two family cars outside Saturdays or $80 on Saturdays. Those savings cover admission only; include any van rental and fuel when comparing transportation costs.

Can We Arrange Personalized Ornament Favors Before Our Visit?

Our bulk personalized ornament service handles advance group requests separately from in-park purchases. Send your headcount and preferred date to discuss options; do not assume the $18.95 store price or same-night timing applies to bulk orders.

How Do We Arrange a Group Visit or Ask About Party Space?

Use our Group visits & parties form with your date, headcount, vehicle plan, and requests. Confirm party-space availability, capacity, pricing, and any exclusive-ride arrangements with our team before including them in the group invitation.
