Both county drive-throughs close on December 25. Their walking events also replace vehicle access on certain dates, so check the exceptions below before leaving home.

Which County Drive-Through Fits Your Family?

Drive-through Christmas lights in St. Charles County include Rotary Park’s Holiday Night Lights and Fort Zumwalt Park’s Celebration of Lights. Both cost less than the Kingdom’s standard family-vehicle admission, making them practical choices when staying close to home matters most.

Wentzville: Earlier Opening and Two Walking Nights

Wentzville’s current event page lists 5 to 9:30 p.m. hours. Advance admission covers up to six passengers for $15, with $1 for each additional passenger; on-site vehicle tickets cost $20.

The calendar has three exceptions:

  • December 6: The drive starts around 7 p.m., after the 5K and Fun Run.
  • December 13 and 14: Walk-through evenings replace the drive-through.
  • December 25: The display closes.

Vehicles longer than 30 feet cannot enter. For an early outing, avoid December 6 rather than assuming every evening starts at the regular time.

O’Fallon: Advance Tickets and Vehicle Closure Dates

For Christmas lights in O’Fallon, MO, Celebration of Lights brings illuminated scenes to Fort Zumwalt Park. The 2026 county tourism listing gives hours of 6 to 9 p.m. and an $18 car price.

The O’Fallon Celebration of Lights drive-through requires advance tickets, but the listing says standard tickets work on any eligible evening. A separate specialty ride needs a reservation.

Vehicles cannot enter on November 30 or December 6, 7, 8, and 14. The December 6 to 8 Holiday Stroll is for pedestrians; the entire display closes December 25.

The city’s event page still shows 2024 information. Use the dated 2026 listing and check the ticket seller’s current terms before paying.

Where Can You Walk Among the Lights Near Home?

Historic Main Street offers decorated streets alongside Christmas Traditions, while St. Peters has a free December 4 community celebration. Keep these outdoor outings separate from a seated drive-through when comparing comfort, clothing, and time.

Among St. Charles, MO Christmas events, Saint Charles Christmas Traditions suits families who want characters and activities alongside their lights. Opening day, November 27, runs noon to 8:30 p.m.

Regular festival sessions run Fridays from 6 to 8:30 p.m., Saturdays from noon to 8:30 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. Christmas Eve has shorter hours, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Wednesday evenings feature a separate A Christmas Carol Stroll.

For Christmas lights near St. Peters, MO, the City Hall tree lighting and Holly-Day Market offers free attendance on December 4. The event runs from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and includes entertainment and Santa visits.

New Town’s decorated homes offer another neighborhood option in St. Charles. The tourism bureau’s lights guide includes them, but homeowners set their own schedules; treat the trip as a flexible loop.

When Should You See Christmas Lights in St. Charles, MO?

Choose the date before choosing the display. For Christmas lights in St. Charles, MO, the county’s two ticketed drive-throughs begin the day after Thanksgiving, while walking and neighborhood outings follow different calendars.

Thanksgiving falls on Thursday, November 26. If that’s when visiting relatives can join you, Santa’s Magical Kingdom is open from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m., with family-vehicle admission of $35.

Christmas Day creates a similar opening in the family calendar. O’Fallon and Wentzville close their displays that night; our lights remain open from 5:30 to 10 p.m.

Santa’s in-person visits end December 23. Choose an earlier date for Santa photos, or plan December 25 around the lights and any separately scheduled activities.

Why Make the Trip to Santa’s Magical Kingdom?

Choose the Kingdom when you want animated displays, a store stop, and optional activities at one destination. You can keep the evening focused on the car tour or add a reserved ride.

Our display preview shows the four-story Kingdom Doors, Elfland, and the Tunnel of Dancing Lights. Candyland and Toy Land give children more scenes to watch for across the 35-acre attraction.

Santa visits inside Kringle’s General Store nightly from November 20 through December 23. Professional pictures arrive digitally by text; check our Santa photo details before planning that stop.

Shared holiday wagons cost $18 per person, and children age 2 and under ride free on an adult’s lap. Booking a train or wagon ride for two or more people waives vehicle admission.

Check the ride calendar and reservations first. Public wagons have blackout dates, including December 24, even though the lights stay open.

Budget separately for photos, rides, refreshments, shopping, and Letters from Santa. Standard carload admission covers the lights drive. The ride-booking waiver changes that vehicle charge; it doesn’t make every activity free.

For alternatives beyond the county, our St. Louis drive-through lights comparison covers the wider region.

Plan the Drive From St. Charles County to Eureka

Set your destination to Santa’s Magical Kingdom at Jellystone Park in Eureka, beside Six Flags. Follow our published directions and admission information for I-44 Exit 261 and the entrance on Fox Creek Road.

Check the route from your starting address in St. Charles, O’Fallon, St. Peters, or Wentzville. Travel time depends on your neighborhood and traffic, so check the return trip as well.

For a drive-through visit, bring cash and pay at the exit. December Saturdays before Christmas are historically our busiest nights; earlier-season weekdays outside Christmas week generally have fewer visitors.

Count travel in both directions before adding dinner or another attraction. If the county festival already fills your child’s evening, give the Kingdom its own date so you have time for the activities you choose.

Bring a Letter for the North Pole Mailbox

Your child can bring a letter to drop in the North Pole mailbox along our display route. Write it before leaving home so the wish list is ready when you reach the Kingdom.

Then arrange Santa’s reply through our separate Letters from Santa order page. The mailbox visit and the personalized letter order are different parts of the plan.

The form lets you add your child’s name, age, interests, wishes, and something they did that made you proud. Choose a warm, playful, or heartfelt tone, then review the design and preview.

Email and printed-mail delivery are available. Review the current package, total, and delivery information before checkout, especially if you’re planning a Christmas Eve reveal.

For siblings, prepare a different proud moment for each child. A specific achievement gives each letter something personal to acknowledge, even when the children shared the same lights outing.
